Basic Info: Kyou Kara Maou is a novel series in Japanese only, created by Tomo Takabayashi. It was later that the popularity of this story was turned into an on-going and very popular anime series and now it's even being made into a manga series. So far only the anime has been licensed so that Americans can enjoy this wonderful tale.

Summary:Yuri Shibuya is an average baseball-loving high school student. When he decides to take a stand against some local bullies, they decide to dunk him in a toilet and Yuri finds himself sucked into another world! He lands in a strange new world populated by warring humans and demons. When the demons announce that he is their new ""Maou"" (Demon King), Yuri's convinced that they must have got it wrong. He's not alone in that opinion and some of the other nobles who are eyeing the throne for themselves are already taking action. Meanwhile, Yuri is managing to get himself into enough trouble by himself - part of his staff wants to date him, part of them hate him, the ex-queen just plain wants him, and, thanks to local customs, Yuri has even managed to get himself engaged to another guy!! Is he ever going to be able to get out of this crazy world and back to his own?

My Comments: This story might sound stupid, but I assure you it's not. Right away you get attached to all the characters and even though the idea of it all sounds dumb, it is really funny and very entertaining to watch. A good light hearted show. I admit, this does appeal mainly to just girls, but guys can watch it to. It has shounen-ai hints, but nothing ever really happens. It's basically a part of the humor in the show. There is a plot eventually, takes about 30 episodes for it to poke it's little head out, haha. The main reason I like this series so much is the character relationships. You can't help but like them since the character seem to compliment each other really well. Yes, this show is more for comedy but there is more to it and in the end it really draws you in and you just can't stop watching. Interested? Grab a copy, you can't go wrong! XD

Anime - Light Novel: For the first 7 novels they keep the anime pretty much the same, with a few differences to the events and their personalities. Once you get to novel 8 the story changes completely. I have yet to actually read all of them (and maybe never will because I don't understand Japanese) but there are some places translating them so I will do my best to keep you up to date on the Wolfram/Yuuri moments.
